Chennai: Tamil Nadu govt will provide sports jerseys to 23 lakh students studying in govt and govt-aided schools from Class IX to XII, school education minister Rajmohan announced in the assembly on Monday.During the debate on demand for grants for school education, he announced that there will be one period allotted to sports, arts and co-curricular activities.Rajmohan also said that the state govt will develop 50 govt high and higher secondary schools as sports plus schools for nurturing young sporting talent.He also announced the launch of dental, eye and ear health check-ups for govt school students in partnership with hospitals. TN also will launch AI-powered personalised and adaptive learning (TN-PAL) across 500 govt middle schools for students studying from Classes VI to VIII.Further, he said a new curriculum for equipping students with analytical thinking, problem-solving, innovation and entrepreneurship and proficiency in AI and emerging technologies will be implemented across all schools from 2027-28.
