Chennai: A 25-year-old man was arrested on charges of assaulting and threatening to kill a woman whom he had earlier promised to marry. The police said the complainant, 25, said she became acquainted with Tamilarasan of Chitlapakkam in 2023 and later formed a relationship. The woman claimed that Tamilarasan initially promised to marry her, but later refused. When she repeatedly questioned him about the marriage, Tamilarasan assaulted her and threatened to kill her. Based on her complaint, the Koyambedu All Women Police registered a case and arrested Tamilarasan on Thursday. He was produced before a magistrate and remanded in judicial custody.
