Nalasopara: An FIR has been registered against a booth level officer (BLO) for remaining absent from a polling station during the crucial final days of the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls. Officials said this is the first such case registered against a BLO in the area.BLO Ranjana Singh was absent from the polling station on Aug 15 and 16, when officials were carrying out the final phase of the SIR exercise. Supervisor Haresh Gavankar lodged a complaint with Achole police, seeking action against her.Based on the complaint, police registered a case under Sections 222 and 223 of BNS and Section 32 of the Representation of the People Act.
