Pune: An eight-year-old girl died while walking on a public road after a tractor hit her around 8.30 am on Thursday in Hole Vasti in Kalepadal.The deceased girl was identified as Varsha Jagdev of Gujarat. Her father Ajay (27), a resident of Surat Bhestan, lodged a complaint with Kalepadal police on Friday against the tractor driver and the owner.Police said the driver does not have a valid driving licence and the tractor owner handed him the vehicle despite being aware of it. “The driver sped away from the spot after hitting the girl fatally. Local residents spotted the tractor and helped us identify the tractor and its driver,” an officer from Kalepadal police said.
