Pune: A 26-year-old man was arrested by Dehu Road police for allegedly trespassing into an army establishment and stealing a sandalwood tree worth Rs10,000 on Wednesday.A security guard at the army establishment in Dehu Camp caught the accused, Ravindra Madhe of Sangamner in Ahilyanagar district, while two of his accomplices escaped.An officer from Dehu Road police said, “Madhe, a daily-wage worker, entered the premises by cutting through the mesh compound around 1 am along with his two accomplices. The trio cut down a sandalwood tree and were escaping when a security guard spotted them and caught Madhe. We are looking for the other two. One is from Ahilyanagar and the other from Junnar taluka.”Madhe has been booked under sections 303 (theft), 329 (criminal trespass) and 324 (mischief) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS).
