Jewellery, outfits & spontaneous buys: Here’s how Gen Z gets Diwali-ready

For young Mumbaikars, Diwali preparations begin long before the first diya is lit. There are outfits to hunt for, jewellery to match, accessories to pick and festive looks to put together. While some prefer planning their wardrobes weeks in advance, others enjoy the thrill of navigating crowded markets for that last-minute find. Jewellery, too, holds a special place in the festivities.Aisha Darvesh, 23, an entrepreneur, says, “I love planning different looks for Diwali parties, and then hunting for the right jewellery and accessories. I also love mixing the look with trendier pieces from that I get while street shopping.”Krutika Sheth, 26, entrepreneur, “I usually pick an outfit I love first and then build the look around it. Jewellery can elevate even the simplest outfit, so I enjoy mixing and matching pieces rather than buying an entirely new look every time. Diwali is certainly an excuse to add to my collection.”
