ULHASNAGAR: The Ulhasnagar Municipal Corporation (UMC) has announced a special property tax concession scheme for 2026-27, offering taxpayers up to 100% waiver on delayed payment penalties.The scheme, introduced under “Shri Ganeshotsav 2026”, will be implemented in three phases from September 12.Under the first phase, from September 12 to 20, taxpayers clearing their entire outstanding dues along with the current year’s property tax in a single payment will get a 100% waiver on the penalty.From September 21 to 28, taxpayers paying their current and pending dues along with 25% of the penalty will receive a 75% waiver. Under the third phase, from September 29 to October 5, those paying all tax dues and 50% of the penalty will get a 50% waiver.Civic officials said offline tax collection centres will remain closed on September 14 and September 25 on account of Ganesh Chaturthi and Anant Chaturthi.Deputy Commissioner (Tax) Anant Jawadwar appealed to property owners to make use of the scheme and avoid a last-minute rush by paying their dues through the civic body’s online portal and offline at centers.PRO Prajakta Kulkarni said timely payment of outstanding property tax would help the corporation fund civic infrastructure and development works in the city.
