NEW DELHI: Cockroach Janta Party (CJP) founder Abhijeet Dipke said the Centre was yet to fulfil several commitments made after the NEET protest, warning that the organisation would return to the streets if the remaining demands were not implemented.His remarks came days after the Centre accepted Union education minister Dharmendra Pradhan’s resignation and handed additional charge of the ministry to Pralhad Joshi following talks with CJP leaders.Cockroach Janta Party (CJP) founder Abhijeet Dipke said the government must fulfil all the assurances given to the protesters, warning that the organisation would resume its agitation if the pending demands remained unaddressed.“We want the government to do this (fulfill the demands agreed upon); otherwise, we will have to sit in protest again,” Dipke said.Referring to one of the key demands of the agitation, Dipke said the resignation of Union education minister Dharmendra Pradhan had been accepted, but questioned the appointment of Pralhad Joshi as his successor.“Our demand was the resignation of the Education Minister, and it was met. But in place of him (Dharmendra Pradhan), who was made the Education Minister? It was Pralhad Joshi. He was seen garlanding the rapists of Bilkis Bano. Imagine how the school-going girls will feel on seeing such things. So, we do not support this,” he said.Dipke also alleged that the Centre had not acted on the demand for financial assistance to the families of NEET aspirants who allegedly died by suicide.“We had also demanded Rs 1 crore each as compensation to the families (of NEET aspirants who died allegedly by suicide). None of the families have received the compensation from the government. I have got to know that the govt has said that it will have to look into the rules & norms for this. When you have to buy MPs/MLAs, you spend crores of rupees, but to give compensation, you need to first check the rules. It means their intention is not right,” he said.The CJP had called off its over month-long agitation after the Centre accepted several of its demands, including the resignation of Dharmendra Pradhan, and Pralhad Joshi was subsequently given additional charge of the education ministry.
