NEW DELHI: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecast heavy to extremely heavy rainfall in several parts of India on Thursday, with Telangana, Chhattisgarh, Vidarbha, Odisha and parts of south India likely to experience intense showers. Thunderstorms, lightning, gusty winds and squally conditions are also expected in several regions.Delhi is expected to remain without any significant weather warning on Thursday, while rainfall activity is likely to increase in parts of Uttar Pradesh and Uttarakhand later in the week. The IMD’s latest warning shows no alert for Haryana, Chandigarh and Delhi on September 24.IMD alert for ThursdayThe IMD has forecast widespread rainfall accompanied by thunderstorms and lightning over East Madhya Pradesh, Vidarbha and Chhattisgarh, while parts of east and south India are also likely to receive widespread showers.Very heavy rainfall is likely at isolated places over Vidarbha and Telangana on Thursday.
