Vasco: Mormugao police arrested a man on Tuesday for allegedly raping a 10-year-old girl.The survivor’s mother lodged a complaint alleging that he took her daughter to his residence between 10pm and 10.30pm on Monday, on the pretext of bringing food.According to the complaint, the man allegedly dragged the girl into his room and sexually assaulted her. He allegedly covered her mouth with his hands to prevent her from raising an alarm.The girl sustained injuries in the alleged assault.Police registered an FIR against the man under provisions of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), Goa Children’s Act and Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (Pocso) Act.The man has been remanded in two days police custody.
