‘Let him speak to family’: CJP alleges ‘emotional atyachaar’ against Abhijeet Dipke after grandmother’s death
Ajinkya Shinde further alleged that the families of the detained leaders had not been informed about their whereabouts.

NEW DELHI: “Abhijeet whereabouts remain unknown, and even his lawyers cannot reach him.” The Cockroach Janta Party (CJP) on Saturday alleged that its founder Abhijeet Dipke’s family had been unable to inform him about his grandmother’s death, demanding his immediate release from police detention.In a post on X, the CJP tweeted, “Abhijeet Dipke’s grandmother has passed away, yet his family cannot even inform him of this loss. His whereabouts remain unknown, and even his lawyers cannot reach him. Delhi Police must release him immediately!”The party’s national organisation in-charge, Ajinkya Shinde, also accused the police of subjecting Dipke to emotional torture and expressed concern over the whereabouts and safety of the detained leaders.In a video shared by the CJP on X, Ajinkya said, “Police unhe emotionally torture kar rahi hai, un par emotional atyachaar kar rahi hai. Kisi ki grandmother ki death hui hai to baat to karwa sakte hain.”Questioning the decision to detain the leaders while they were aboard a flight, Shinde said, “Flight se unko detain kiya gaya. Agar section 163 ka wo ulanghan karte, roads par aate, pradarshan karte tab unko detain karna theek tha. Lekin flight se hi detain karoge to kya logo ko flight se travel karna chhod dena chahiye kya? Yeh ek bada sawaal hai.”He further alleged that the families of the detained leaders had not been informed about their whereabouts.“‘Aur yeh emotional atyachaar hum bilkul sehen nahi karenge. Abhi tak kisi ko pata nahi chala, na CJP members ko, na Abhijeet ki family ko, na Ashutosh ki family ko, na Saurav ki family ko ki in teeno ko leke gayekaha hain.’“Subah se unka contact nahi hai to unki security ko leke hum abhut chintit hain,” Shinde said.What Delhi Police saidResponding to claims circulating on social media about Dipke not being informed of his grandmother’s death, Delhi Police issued a clarification on X, saying the information had been conveyed to him promptly and sensitively.“Several social media handles are claiming that as Sh. Abhijeet Dipke is in detention, he has not been informed about the demise of his grandmother.“In this regard it is being clarified that the information regarding the demise of Abhijeet’s grandmother was promptly conveyed to him with due sensitivity. He was also informed of the scheduled funeral time and offered all possible assistance to facilitate his travel to his hometown on humanitarian grounds,” the police said.CJP leaders detained at Delhi airportCJP leaders Abhijeet Dipke, Saurav Das and Ashutosh Ranka were detained from inside a flight at Delhi airport on Saturday, ahead of the party’s planned ‘Jantar Mantar 2.0’ protest.In a video shared by the party on X, Dipke was heard questioning the police action as personnel approached the leaders inside the aircraft.“You can see where the nation is heading. They are here to arrest us directly from the flight. This is something even Indira Gandhi had not done. This is dictatorship, where Delhi Police has entered the flight and is trying to arrest us,” he said.The CJP leaders and some passengers were also heard raising slogans, including “Bharat Mata ki Jai” and “Inquilab Zindabad”, during the incident.
