Ahmedabad: The Gujarat govt’s Fee Regulation Committee (FRC) has issued a show-cause notice to Prakash Higher Secondary School in Bodakdev over allegations of collecting fees higher than those approved for the 2026-27 academic year.The notice follows multiple complaints from parents claiming that the school charged excess fees. The FRC has directed the school authorities to appear before the committee on June 25 with relevant documents and explanations.According to reports, the school announced annual fees ranging from Rs 50,300 to Rs 64,000 for the current academic year and informed parents accordingly. The school has maintained that the fee hike is below 10%, which it claims is within permissible limits.In its response to the notice, the school management denied any violation of rules and said it would present its case before the committee. The FRC has also asked the school to submit detailed records, including class-wise fee receipts collected during the academic year. The notice has triggered concerns among private school operators in Ahmedabad.
