A woman reportedly fell from a crowded local train between Diva and Mumbra

THANE: A woman reportedly fell from a local train between Diva and Mumbra on Thursday morning when the train was halted at a signal, with preliminary information indicating that heavy crowding may have led to the incident.The woman was travelling on the 7.56am Dombivli local, which was reportedly heavily crowded. According to the preliminary information available with the Thane Railway Police, the train had stopped because of a signal when the woman fell from the train.However, the incident has not yet been officially reported at the Thane Railway Police Station, police said.“Information regarding the video was sought. A woman fell when the local train was stationary due to a signal between Mumbra and Diva, apparently because of heavy crowding. However, the incident has not been reported at Thane Railway Police Station,” said Dharamendra Vishnu Aware, senior police inspector, Thane Railway Police Station.Police are now attempting to trace the woman who is believed to have been injured in the fall.Officials said further details, including her identity, condition and the exact circumstances surrounding the incident, will be ascertained once she is located.Police said detailed information would be released after the injured woman is traced and the circumstances are verified.
