Panaji: Union home minister Amit Shah, defence minister Rajnath Singh, and minister for road transport and highways Nitin Gadkari will visit the state to attend different programmes, from the inauguration of BJP’s Goa headquarters to the six-lane elevated road at Porvorim.Shah will be in Goa on a two-day visit on Sep 6 and 7. Chief minister Pramod Sawant invited him for the presentation ceremony of the President of India’s Police Colours to the Goa Police and, on behalf of the entire BJP Goa team, for the inauguration of the new BJP Goa headquarters.BJP core committee met on Saturday to discuss arrangements for the events in the state, including ‘Har Ghar Tiranga’. The core committee also discussed strengthening the party organisation and connecting with the people.It congratulated Union govt for notifying the ST Assembly Representation Act, ensuring ST reservation in the next assembly elections in Goa. The notification will set in motion the process to reserve around four seats for the ST community in the 2027 state assembly elections.Sawant said the party has decided on a month-long programme to connect with the people of the state. He said the Porvorim flyover will be thrown open and that on Aug 17, the new district headquarters for the third district, Kushavati, will be inaugurated.
