Surat: Amroli police booked an autorickshaw driver and his three associates for assaulting a railway police constable after he refused to open a level crossing as a train was scheduled to pass.Railway police constable Arvind Yadav was on duty at the Shantinagar-Bharthana railway crossing in Amroli on Saturday evening. Around 9pm an autorickshaw driver came up to Yadav and asked him to get the crossing opened. As the train was scheduled to pass, Yadav refused. The driver began abusing Yadav and was told to leave or face legal action.A while later, the driver came back accompanied by three aides and allegedly started abusing and assaulting Yadav. The four allegedly threatened Yadav, saying he should not be seen in the area again if he wanted to stay alive. Yadav immediately called for backup, prompting the accused to flee.He later filed a complaint with Amroli police for obstructing a govt servant from his duty, criminal intimidation and voluntarily causing hurt. Police have started a search for the accused based on the autorickshaw number.
