Ahmedabad: Heavy rainfall lashed several parts of Gujarat on Friday, prompting large-scale rescue and relief efforts across the state. The State Emergency Operation Centre (SEOC) in Gandhinagar reported that Deodar taluka in Banaskantha district received over 3 inches of rain within two hours. Bhabhar, Dhansura in Aravali, Lilia in Amreli, and Santalpur in Patan district also recorded more than 2 inches of rainfall.Amid the ongoing monsoon, authorities have relocated 38,653 residents to safer areas as a precaution, while 5,547 people have been rescued from flood-hit zones.To tackle emergencies, 49 teams from the National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) and State Disaster Response Force (SDRF) have been deployed across districts. Additionally, two Indian Army teams each have been stationed in Ahmedabad, Navsari, and Valsad.Rescue operations are being reinforced through multi-agency coordination. The Indian Air Force is conducting rescue missions in Vadodara, while the Coast Guard is carrying out aerial surveys in Navsari, Valsad, and Tapi districts. Coast Guard teams are also rescuing stranded residents in Bilimora and Gandevi areas.
