Panaji: MGP MLA Jit Arolkar’s remarks that he “gels better” with chief minister Pramod Sawant than with his party’s senior functionary and minister Ramkrishna ‘Sudin’ Dhavalikar, coupled with his meeting with BJP national president Nitin Nabin on Wednesday, have fuelled speculation about his political future.Arolkar, the Mandrem MLA, briefly met Nabin and presented him with flowers before posing for photographs at the end of the BJP president’s two-day visit to Goa.“Sudin is slightly older. I respect him as our party’s leader, senior member. But the CM is younger and since we are in a similar age group, that is why I gel better with him,” Arolkar said.He was quick to dismiss speculation that he was planning to join BJP, insisting that his meeting with Nabin was purely personal. “I am not entering BJP. I know him (Nabin) from before he was BJP national president and that is why I had come to meet him,” he said. However, earlier in the day, when asked about a possible switch of political allegiance, Arolkar had said that “right announcements will be made at the right time”, adding to speculation about his political plans.
