Surat: Three men allegedly assaulted, robbed and threatened a 43-year-old construction supervisor with exposure after luring him to a meeting through a gay dating app in the Varachha area. Police have arrested the three men.According to police, the victim had been using the gay dating app for a year. On Aug 27, one of the accused contacted him through it and lured him to a meeting in near Ghanshyamnagar Society.When the victim arrived, the accused took him to a house and led him to the fourth floor. Two other men soon arrived. The trio allegedly assaulted the victim and took Rs 5,000 and his mobile phone.Police said the accused threatened him, demanding more money if the victim did not want his family to be told about the incident. After they left, the victim contacted his son and decided to lodge a complaint.Varachha police inspector A R Vala said, “We have booked complaint and arrested three men — Archit Sankhat (21), Jayesh Gohil (23) and Raj Kushwaha (20). Sankhat has four prior offences registered against him while Kushwaha has two. We are investigating if they similarly extorted anyone else.”
