Ahmedabad: A 49-year-old lawyer was allegedly threatened with death and warned to withdraw from a domestic violence case involving his client. In a separate incident, a 29-year-old garage worker was allegedly attacked with a knife during a dispute over a two-wheeler in Fatehwadi, late on Wednesday night.According to the lawyer’s complaint registered with Chandkheda police on Wednesday, he was representing a woman in multiple cases pending before courts in Patan against her husband. On Aug 1, the accused allegedly called him and confronted him over the cases filed against him. During the conversation, he allegedly abused the lawyer and demanded that he stop representing the woman.The accused allegedly threatened to visit the lawyer’s residence and assault him. He also allegedly warned that he would kill the lawyer while he travelled from Ahmedabad to Patan for court proceedings and threatened to run him over with his truck if he continued with the case. The lawyer approached police, alleging that the threats were intended to intimidate him and force him to withdraw from the proceedings.In the second case, the garage worker was allegedly attacked after a dispute over a customer’s two-wheeler. The accused allegedly pulled out a knife and attacked him. The worker suffered a cut on his left elbow and was taken to VS Hospital.
