Bicholim: A 20-year-old man died of electrocution at Maulingem on Friday night. Police said Akshat Naik, an ITI student from Lamgao, was electrocuted while carrying out electrical wiring work at a house in Maulingem. He was employed as a helper by a private electrical contractor.He was declared dead and brought to a hospital. The body was sent to GMC Bambolim for post-mortem examination and later handed over to the family for the last rites.Police initially detained two persons on suspicion, but they were released after the autopsy report confirmed electrocution as the cause of death.Further investigation is under way under the supervision of PI Vijay Rane Sardesai.
