Gujarat govt approves posts of 28 new section officers
Move is expected to speed up the disposal of govt files, accelerate implementation of policy decisions and help citizens get their work completed in less time

Gandhinagar: To make administrative work faster and more efficient, the state govt has decided to raise the number of section officer posts in the secretariat cadre from the present 606 to 634.A notification issued by the general administration department said the Class-II officer posts will benefit 26 departments and is expected to speed up the disposal of govt files, accelerate implementation of policy decisions and help citizens get their work completed in less time.An official statement said that in addition, provisions have been made for temporary posts and deputation reserves in certain crucial offices such as the chief minister’s office (CMO), the Gujarat Vigilance Commission and the Gujarat Subordinate Services Selection Board.During the current year, the state govt has already promoted 86 deputy section officers (Class-III) in the secretariat cadre and appointed them as section officers (Class-II). The govt said that with these new posts and promotions, the availability of officers in the secretariat would improve, leading to quicker file processing and more efficient delivery of govt services.
