From 108 drums to heritage autos, Vadnagar celebrates Sharavanotsav

Gandhinagar: Deputy chief minister Harsh Sanghavi on Thursday inaugurated ‘Sharavanotsav’ in the historic town of Vadnagar, Mehsana, where 108 artists played drums simultaneously during a grand procession through the heritage town.The procession began at Sharmistha Lake and passed through Arjun Bari, Bhagat-na-Galla and Juna Chachar before making its way through the Swaminarayan Temple and Gopalji Temple. It culminated at the Hatkeshwar Mahadev Temple, with residents lining the route and joining the celebrations.The festivities also saw the launch of the ‘Vadnagar Heritage Auto Rickshaw’ service, aimed at promoting tourism and offering visitors a new way to explore the heritage town. Sanghavi took a ride in one of the heritage autos after inaugurating the service.Following the inauguration, Sanghavi held a review meeting with senior officials to assess various development works being undertaken in Vadnagar.
