Mumbai: Government Railway Police (GRP), probing the incident where two drones crashed inside Churchgate station and injured a commuter on the night of Oct 28, have summoned employees of the event management company responsible for operating them.GRP have seized both drones, which were among 150 used for a private telecom company’s show at Wankhede stadium and Marine Drive. “It appears the two drones that entered Churchgate station couldn’t be controlled by the event organising company’s staff. Had the drones hit a high-tension wire at the railway station, there was a possibility of an explosion. We have summoned the employees concerned for questioning,” said a senior GRP official. The incident occurred around 8.05pm on Oct 28, when Hemant Morujkar (37), a Virar resident who works as a security guard in south Mumbai, was waiting for a train on platforms 3/4 after work. Suddenly something sharp hit his head. He suffered an injury on his forehead and began to bleed. He noticed that a drone had hit him.A co-passenger took Morujkar to the station helpdesk. Police manning the helpdesk rushed him to a 108 ambulance for first aid before he was taken to GT Hospital and later sent home.Churchgate GRP have registered an FIR against unknown persons under the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita provisions for an act endangering the life or personal safety of others.
