Panaji: State Congress president Girish Chodankar on Monday alleged that chief minister Pramod Sawant and ports minister Digambar Kamat made multiple attempts to block Rahul Gandhi’s yatra on Sunday. “There was a lot of pressure on the administration and officers to try and make sure that the yatra did not succeed. Our posters were damaged, venues were cancelled,” he said.Chodankar alleged that Kamat obstructed permissions for meetings on the final day of the Goy Rakhonn Yatra in order to curry favour with BJP central leadership in exchange for the chief minister’s post.“Pramod Sawant knows that BJP may not win in the assembly elections and he is now preparing his rehabilitation in Delhi. Digambar Kamat is dreaming of being the chief minister,” he said.Chodankar said that Congress has decided to ensure the defeat of the eight MLAs who defected from Congress to BJP in 2022.“Goa’s people have made it their objective to defeat the eight traitors. These eight traitors have cheated God,” he said.Chodankar said that BJP has tried to bring in new political parties in the state to try and split the opposition vote.
