Panaji: Chandrahas Desai assumed charge as additional director of agriculture on Wednesday, succeeding Sandeep Fol Desai, following an order issued by the department of personnel directing him to take charge from July 1. He will continue to serve as managing director of the Goa State Horticulture Corporation Limited (GSHCL).Desai has held several key positions in the agriculture department, including zonal agriculture officer in Canacona, Quepem, Tiswadi and Ponda. He has also served as project director of the Agricultural Technology Management Agency (ATMA), South Goa, and project coordinator at Krishi Vigyan Kendra, Margao.“I hope to further strengthen the agriculture department’s efforts towards promoting sustainable agriculture, increasing farmer welfare and advancing govt’s vision for agricultural growth and rural prosperity,” he said.
