Surat: Vesu police here booked a 37-year-old married man on Friday for alleged sexual intercourse through deceit with a 38-year-old married woman.The woman lives separately from her husband. Police said the woman initially filed her complaint in Delhi, after which Delhi Police transferred the case to Surat for further action.After a preliminary inquiry, Vesu police registered an FIR against the accused, a schoolteacher. According to the complaint, the alleged offence took place in May 2025 when the woman visited Surat. She claimed the man promised to marry her and assured her of help in securing good employment in the city.The complainant stated that she and the accused are distant relatives and that their families were acquainted. She alleged that after the incident, the man later refused to marry her and did not help her find work as promised. The woman told police she felt cheated and subsequently decided to approach law enforcement.Police are looking for the accused. Police suspect he has left home as he was aware of the possibility of an FIR being filed.
