Syedna Mufaddal Saifuddin in Surat

Surat: Syedna Mufaddal Saifuddin, the 53rd leader of the Dawoodi Bohra community, delivered a sermon at Masjid e Moazzam on Thursday, marking the birthdays of both him and his late father and predecessor, Syedna Mohammed Burhanuddin. Around 85,000 Dawoodi Bohras from India and abroad gathered in Surat for the occasion. In his address, Syedna Saifuddin drew parallels between the qualities of an artist and the way individuals should approach life. He explained that an artist first envisions an image, develops it with care and precision, and ultimately brings that vision to life.Emphasising the importance of balance and proportion, Syedna Saifuddin said these qualities contribute to the beauty and harmony of a work of art. He used the analogy to encourage members of the community to shape their lives with similar clarity and purpose, while maintaining a balance among its different facets.Following Syedna Burhanuddin’s passing in 2014, Syedna Saifuddin chose to celebrate his own birthday on the same day as his father’s, preserving a connection to his memory and legacy. This year marks the 116th birth anniversary of Syedna Burhanuddin and the 83rd birthday of Syedna Saifuddin.
