The Congress delegation expressed “serious concerns” arising from the arrest, even when no allegation of violence, property damage, or threat to public safety was publicly attributed to the concerned individuals.Yadav said that it was the democratic right of political parties to protest peacefully, and the Youth Congress workers only exercised this right in a peaceful manner, for which the Delhi Police slapped severe clauses on them.Ajay Maken, All India Congress Committee treasurer and Rajya Sabha MP, said that the arrest of Youth Congress workers was totally unconstitutional and the murder of democracy. “Opposition has every right to speak against anti-national decisions,” he said.
