Mapusa: Mapusa police have cracked two separate missing and abduction cases, rescuing four individuals from Karnataka and Maharashtra through inter-state coordination.In the first case, two sisters, aged 22 and 17, were allegedly abducted from Canca on Sep 5. Police traced them to Mangaluru and rescued them with the assistance of Karnataka police. The primary suspect, 26-year-old Vakdoth Vakila Naik of Bellary, Karnataka, was arrested and remanded in 14 days in judicial custody.In the second case, a 37-year-old woman and her nine-year-old son went missing from Khorlim, Mapusa, on Sep 10. Technical surveillance led a police team to Akluj in Maharashtra’s Solapur district, where the duo were found safe. Police said the woman had left home with her son due to mental stress. They were subsequently reunited with their family.Further investigation is under way in both cases.
