IIPH identified as TRC for evidence-based health guidelines

Ahmedabad: Indian Institute of Public Health (IIPH-G) is provisionally identified as a technical resource centre (TRC) for the Centre for Evidence-Based Guidelines (CEBG) by the department of health research under the ministry of health and family welfare, Government of India.Prof Deepak Saxena, director of IIPH-G, said that the institute is among 16 institutions across the country that have been provisionally identified for this prestigious initiative. “The establishment of these technical resource centres is an important step toward strengthening India’s capacity for developing and implementing high-quality, evidence-based clinical and public health guidelines,” he said.Officials associated with the initiative said that IIPH-G will contribute to advancing the development of rigorous, transparent, and contextually relevant evidence-based guidelines that support informed decision-making and improve health outcomes. In the past, the institute had worked on projects related to type-1 diabetes, hypothyroidism, and non-communicable diseases (NCDs) among others.
