AHMEDABAD: Two people died after a wall at the under-construction World Trade Centre site collapsed onto a nearby house in Gujarat’s Bharuch on Wednesday following heavy rainfall, officials said.The incident took place in the Ali Matariya Talab area, where the wall of the under-construction building gave way after overnight rain.A local resident said the wall collapsed onto his uncle’s house, trapping two of the four occupants inside.“Due to the rain last night, a wall collapsed onto my uncle’s house. There were four people inside; two managed to get out, but the other two were trapped. We called the fire brigade, and they arrived and rescued the two trapped individuals. We then took them to the Civil Hospital, where the doctors declared them dead. This incident occurred because the wall collapsed following the rainfall,” he said.The fire brigade rescued the two people trapped under the debris and shifted them to the Civil Hospital, where doctors declared them dead.
