Pune: Cybercrooks duped a 38-year-old business consultant from Dudulgaon of Rs 5.23 lakh by offering him a franchise of a logistics services provider.The suspects collected money from the complainant between May 21 and June 20 under various pretexts. The complainant lodged a complaint with the Dighi police on Monday.According to a Dighi police officer, the complainant came across an advertisement of a logistics firm on a social media platform. Later, a woman claiming to be an executive of the firm contacted him and assured him of profits from the franchise business.“The woman shared the firm’s documents with the complainant and gained his confidence,” the officer said. When the complainant accepted the proposal, the woman and her accomplices took the said amount in several accounts and duped him.
