Caption: Collision Course: Police said the car driver’s complaint was taken as all 3 riders seemed drunkAhmedabad: A 40-year-old motorcycle rider from Rajasthan was killed after his motorcycle collided with a car driven by a man without a licence, who has filed a complaint.The accident occurred at Vyasvadi Crossroads early on Sunday. The deceased was identified as Bharat Nanama. His two pillion riders were admitted to hospital.At 2.15am, the motorcycle was travelling from Akhbarnagar towards Subhash Bridge. According to the complaint filed by Narendra Vaghela, the motorcycle rammed the front-left portion of his car after he had crossed the junction.The impact damaged the bonnet and windshield of the car, while the motorcycle’s front wheel snapped and all three riders were thrown onto the road.Vaghela, a Ranip resident, told police he was driving a car owned by his friend, Jignesh Gupta, and was accompanied by Gupta, his elder brother Chetan Vaghela, and sister-in-law Tulsi.Police, however, did not register any offence against Vaghela till Sunday evening.B Division traffic police inspector R S Patel said, “All three riders of the motorcycle were drunk, as revealed during the investigation. That is why the complaint of the car driver has been taken.”Patel added that the findings were still subject to forensic confirmation. “Blood samples of the injured motorcycle occupants and the postmortem report of Nanama will determine if liquor was consumed,” Patel said.CCTV footage of the collision shows the motorcycle striking the car at the intersection before the riders are flung onto the road.
