Panaji: Villagers recovered the bodies of a 63-year-old woman and her 27-year-old son from the Tiracol river at Satarda in Maharashtra on Monday. The deceased belonged to the Arondekar family.The mother, Shrutika Arondekar, and her son, Suhas Arondekar, had reportedly entered the river on Saturday night. When they were found missing, villagers launched a search and found their slippers and a battery near the riverbank, around 300 metres from their home.After villagers alerted the police, a search operation using boats was launched, but the bodies could not be traced. Locals eventually found the bodies on Sunday evening.According to residents, the mother and son lived alone and had no other family members. Their bodies were taken to the Sawantwadi sub-district Hospital for post-mortem examinations.Police registered a case of accidental death at Sawantwadi police station. Police from Sawantwadi and Pernem are investigating the circumstances surrounding the deaths. Initial leads suggest that the son was addicted to online gaming.
