Kolkata: Calcutta High Court on Monday directed the state to file an affidavit detailing the steps taken by the investigating agency to preserve CCTV footage linked to an FIR involving an egg attack on former minister Aroop Biswas within five weeks.The former minister in the Trinamool govt had moved the HC alleging heckling and an egg attack at a lower court.The HC had, on July 28, directed preservation of the CCTV footage relating to the incident.On Monday, Biswas’s counsel told the court that its previous direction was not complied with.Advocate general Surajit Nath Mitra said the agency was taking steps to preserve footage.The court observed, prima facie, preservation of CCTV footage appeared necessary for the purpose of investigation of the FIR.
