Agartala: Tripura govt, in partnership with T-Hub, Hyderabad’s leading innovation hub, held a session, “Building a Unicorn in Tripura”, here on Monday, aimed at establishing the state as a key centre for innovation, entrepreneurship and technology growth in northeast India.The session was designed to inspire emerging entrepreneurs to create high-growth, scalable businesses. At the event, Tripura Registry & Integration for Start-up Ecosystem (T-RISE) was launched, along with signed MoUs with major industry partners to speed up start-up growth and investment.Addressing the session, state information technology minister Pranajit Singha Roy spoke about the new sector-agnostic Tripura Start-up Policy. He noted that the state has set up T-NEST, an incubation centre at International Business Centre, to offer mentorship, technical guidance and market connections.Since the policy’s launch, Tripura has received over 185 applications, approved 140 registrations and recognized 70 start-ups, providing more than Rs 2.72 crore in financial support through Tri-Seed Fund, Proof of Concept assistance and operational funding.Singha Roy described T-RISE portal as a digital platform linking users to over 20 mentors, more than 10 investors, over 10 corporate partners and Tripura’s global community of technology executives and experts.
