Ahmedabad gets drizzle, cloudy weather likely today

Ahmedabad: The city witnessed overcast skies and intermittent drizzle on Thursday, particularly during the morning hours. However, the total rainfall recorded was less than 1mm, according to State Emergency Operations Centre (SEOC) data. India Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecast cloudy conditions for Ahmedabad on Friday, with the possibility of one or two spells of rain.Across Gujarat, 134 talukas received 1mm or more rainfall till 8pm. Valsad recorded the highest rainfall at 72mm, followed by Khergam in Navsari district with 71mm, Nanapondha in Valsad with 61mm, Palanpur in Banaskantha with 46mm, and Virpur in Mahisagar with 44mm. In Ahmedabad district, Dhandhuka and Dholera received 29mm each, while Viramgam recorded 2mm and Mandal 1mm.The persistent cloud cover kept temperatures in check in Ahmedabad. The maximum temperature settled at 29.5°C, 0.3 degrees below normal, while the minimum temperature was 25.8°C, 0.5 degrees above normal. Relative humidity remained high, measuring 92% at 8.30am and 72% at 5.30pm.According to the IMD forecast, parts of Panchmahal, Dahod, Mahisagar, Chhota Udepur, Narmada, Amreli and Bhavnagar districts may receive light to moderate rainfall, while weather in most other districts is expected to remain normal.The IMD’s extended forecast, issued on Thursday, indicated normal to below-normal rainfall over several regions of the country. It also stated that maximum and minimum temperatures are likely to remain near normal across most parts of India.
