MUMBAI: Heavy rain and adverse weather conditions in Mumbai prompted SpiceJet to issue a travel advisory on Tuesday, warning passengers that flight arrivals, departures and consequential flights at Mumbai airport could be affected.In a post on X, the airline said, “#WeatherUpdate : Due to bad weather (heavy rain) in Mumbai (BOM), all departures/arrivals and their consequential flights might get affected.” It advised passengers to keep checking their flight status before travelling to the airport.Mumbai has witnessed spells of heavy rainfall in recent weeks, with downpours disrupting air traffic at the city’s airport. Earlier, heavy rain and poor weather conditions had led to multiple flight diversions and delays, including flights being diverted from Mumbai.The city’s monsoon spells have also caused waterlogging and disruption to road and other transport services, with the India Meteorological Department issuing rain alerts during periods of intense rainfall.With weather conditions potentially affecting flight operations, passengers have been advised to check their individual flight status with the airline before leaving for Mumbai airport.
