Ahmedabad: State Examination Board will conduct the main exam of the Teacher Aptitude Test for Higher Secondary (TAT-HS) in the Gujarati medium on Saturday for the recruitment of teachers in higher secondary schools. A total of 50,069 candidates have registered for the exam, which will be held at 279 centres in five major districts: Ahmedabad, Surat, Rajkot, Vadodara, and Ahmedabad Rural.The TAT-HS follows a two-tier system comprising preliminary and main exams. The preliminary test, held earlier, was a 200-mark objective paper. Out of over 1.47 lakh candidates who appeared, 51,971 qualified for the main exam.Originally scheduled for Aug 2, the main exam was postponed due to heavy rainfall in the state and will now be conducted in two sessions on Saturday. Paper 1 will be held from 10.30am to 1pm and will include questions on essay writing, precis, letter writing, comprehension and grammar for 100 marks. Paper 2 will take place from 3pm to 6pm and will focus on subject content and pedagogy, also carrying 100 marks.Given the sensitive nature of the exam, the board has implemented strict security measures. An advanced paper tracking system (PATA) will be used to monitor the movement of question papers and prevent malpractices. All centres are equipped with CCTV surveillance, while observers have been appointed at both district and state levels to ensure smooth and transparent conduct of the exam.
