Ahmedabad: Gujarat High Court on Friday permitted the state govt to go ahead with the recruitment process for nearly 11,000 posts of primary teachers, but ordered it to keep 774 posts vacant for candidates who have challenged the answer key.A total of 774 candidates have disputed answers to some 18-20 questions asked in the exam that was held on Dec 21, 2025 for the recruitment of vidya sahayaks through Teacher Eligibility Test (TET-1).As the petitions were pending, the govt halted the recruitment process. But govt pleader G H Virk on Friday suggested that considering the importance of the recruitment process, HC could permit the govt to go ahead with the process provided the State Examination Board kept 774 posts in different categories vacant till the final outcome of the petitions.Following this, Justice Niral Mehta ordered, “During the pendency of these petitions, the state shall keep 774 posts in different categories vacant till the batch of these petitions are decided. The rest of the seats, the state is permitted to fill up in accordance with law.”
