Ahmedabad: A dispute over vacating a rented house turned violent in Sarkhej on Friday night, leaving a 17-year-old boy injured after he was allegedly attacked with a hammer near a roadside shop.The complaint was filed on Saturday by a 37-year-old Sarkhej resident at Sarkhej police station.According to the complainant, his family resides in a two-storey house, while tenants have occupied the upper floor for the past six months. He alleged that the family had asked the tenants to vacate the premises around three months ago, but they sought additional time, citing an upcoming childbirth in the family.The incident allegedly began on Friday night when one of the tenants called the complainant and asked him to come to a nearby shop, saying someone was discussing getting the house vacated. The complainant said he initially declined as he wanted to sleep, but later went to the shop near a temple.There, an argument allegedly broke out and escalated into a scuffle. When the complainant’s nephew arrived and questioned why his uncle was being confronted, the situation allegedly turned violent.According to the FIR, the tenant’s younger brother struck the 17-year-old on the head with a hammer before pushing him to the ground.The teenager was rushed to a hospital, where doctors treated him as an outpatient and administered five stitches to his head before discharging him.
