Margao: The Konkan Railway police have traced and recovered 60 mobile phones stolen from train passengers travelling on the Konkan Railway route at various times, and have arrested seven people in connection with the thefts.The stolen phones were traced through sustained investigation, technical analysis, and coordinated efforts by the staff of the Konkan Railway police station. The devices had been reported missing or stolen in multiple cases registered at the police station, with thefts having taken place from passengers travelling in different trains along the route.Those arrested in the case have been identified as Mukesh Kumar Chauhan and Ram Sajan Chauhan, both residents of Maharashtra; Radhe Shyam and Lal Singh, both from Uttar Pradesh; Sonu Dikshit of Margao; Riyaz Ali Zakir of Ponda; and Pravin Selvaraj of Keralam.Police said the recovered handsets would be returned to their rightful owners after verification of ownership and completion of the necessary legal formalities.
