Ahmedabad: A 23-year-old man was killed and his friend injured after a truck allegedly travelling on the wrong side knocked them off their motorcycle near Anjali flyover on Tuesday morning. Milan Vaghela and his friend Kuldeep, who had left home around midnight on Monday, were returning home when the accident occurred around 4am, Milan’s father Dharamshi Vaghela, an autorickshaw driver, stated in his police complaint.Milan, with Kuldeep on the pillion, was riding towards Mahalaxmi Five Roads from Vasna, and descending the flyover when a truck, being driven on the wrong side of the road, rammed into the motorbike. The bike hit a car from the impact and Milan was thrown under the truck. He died on the spot from injuries, the complaint states. Kuldeep was taken to the Civil Hospital in Asarwa with serious injuries. Milan’s uncle informed the family of the death.The driver has been identified as Narendrasinh Jindusinh Zala of Sabarkantha and a case was registered against him.In a separate accident on SG Highway early Tuesday, a 20-year-old man escaped unhurt after his car crashed into a metal diversion on Iskcon flyover around 3.30am. Police said Het Parikh was returning from Gandhinagar when he lost control of the car.
