Ahmedabad: Patience finally ran out for an Ellisbridge resident 16 years after paying upfront for a plotting scheme near Viramgam. With neither the 1,000 sq ft plot handed over nor his Rs 2.95 lakh refunded, the buyer has now filed a complaint against three directors of a real estate firm with Navrangpura police.In 2010, the firm launched Elegance-1 plotting scheme at Sachana village in Ahmedabad district. The complainant — a clerk employed at Bible House near Gujarat College — came to know of it through an acquaintance and booked a 1,000 sq ft plot (Plot No. 109) for Rs 2.95 lakh. He allegedly paid Rs 21,000 in cash on April 26, 2010, followed by Rs 2.74 lakh through a State Bank of India cheque on May 25, 2010.The company issued an allotment letter for the plot.The complainant alleged that the company’s directors assured him that approvals were under process. “They told us that the plotting scheme would be ready in six months,” the FIR stated.However, the complainant alleged that no development work was carried out even after six months. “Whenever we approached them, they would assure us that work was on. However, they have neither handed over the plot nor returned our money,” the FIR alleged.The complainant has accused the directors of criminal breach of trust and cheating by allegedly inducing him to invest in the project without fulfilling their commitments.
