Chennai: Police arrested a 46-year-old man for sexually assaulting a woman after luring her with offers to act in films. The accused also extorted ₹2 lakh and 91g of gold jewellery from her.According to a complaint from the 36-year-old small-time actor, she got acquainted with the accused, Sheikh Muthaleef, in 2025. He claimed to run a media company and invited her to an award event.Later, he promised her acting opportunities and sexually assaulted her. He then threatened to release an obscene video of hers and extorted ₹2 lakh and 91g of gold jewellery. A case was registered at Vadapalani All Women Police Station, and police arrested Muthaleef from Adambakkam on Saturday.
