Panaji: Goa is likely to experience a relatively subdued spell of monsoon activity over the coming days, with the India Meteorological Department (IMD) forecasting only light to moderate rainfall in the state from Sep 17 to 22.The forecast comes as Goa continues to record a rainfall deficit for the monsoon season. As of Sep 16, the state had received 1,963.4 mm of rainfall between June 1 and Sep 16, against the normal rainfall of 2,872.8 mm, representing a 31.7% deficit.Rainfall activity on Sep 16 was also considerably below normal. Goa recorded an average of just 2.3mm of rainfall on the day, against the normal of 10.8mm, marking a departure of 79% below normal.
