Kolkata: Bengal BJP on Wednesday said forces outside the country, especially those active during the farmers’ movement, were behind the student’s protests across the country and in the state. It said these forces needed to be “dealt with strongly” by the state govt.“The students were happy with the resolution after the Centre held a discussion with them. But the agitators have a different motive and they are trying to stay afloat by using such tactics,” said state BJP president Samik Bhattacharya.“Students’ movement is nothing new in Bengal. It has turned into a kind of fashion. But those who are trying to hijack the movement to serve their political agenda will not be spared. There will be an investigation against them,” panchayat minister Dilip Ghosh said. “The state will follow the rule of law. The anti-national forces will not be spared,” Ghosh added.Bengal BJP spokesperson Debjit Sarkar on Wednesday pointed at the role of forces from outside India behind the movement. “We know how farmers’ agitation was being helped from foreign locations. We have seen the role of the deep state in Bangladesh students’ movement. It will be premature to specify any forces at this juncture and we are waiting for the investigation. However, we see similar patterns in the way these movements are being organized,” Sarkar said.He said that those who have received bail, have not been freed from the ambit of investigation. “Some of the accused persons may have received bail, but it does not mean that they have been given clean chit by the investigators. Truth will come out soon,” Sarkar said.
