Ahmedabad: Navrangpura police on Thursday booked a woman after a businesswoman alleged that she was assaulted and threatened inside her office on CG Road by the estranged wife of her business partner amid an ongoing matrimonial dispute.According to the FIR, the complainant runs a construction, real estate and outdoor advertising business with a partner whose marital dispute with his wife is pending before a family court.The complainant alleged that on July 3, while she and her staff were at their office in a commercial complex on CG Road, the partner’s wife arrived looking for him. Before anyone could respond, the woman allegedly started abusing the complainant, slapped her twice and threatened to kill her before leaving the office.The complainant alleged that on June 18 she received objectionable WhatsApp messages, including photographs and abusive content, after which she lodged a complaint with the Cybercrime police. The matter is under investigation.She further alleged that another confrontation had occurred in March 2024 on the family court premises in Ahmedabad, where she had accompanied her business partner. A written complaint regarding that incident was submitted to the police, the FIR stated.Based on the latest complaint, Navrangpura police registered a case under relevant BNS provisions for voluntarily causing hurt, criminal intimidation and use of abusive language.
