Ahmedabad: The admission process for paramedical courses after Class XII in Gujarat has been extended to Aug 1, following disruptions caused by heavy rainfall across the state. Initially, students were required to complete document verification by July 27 after registering online. However, due to adverse weather conditions, more than 1,700 students were unable to visit help centres for verification.Considering student representations, authorities have now extended the deadline for document verification until Aug 1. Additionally, students who have not yet registered will get another opportunity, as the registration window has been reopened from July 29 to July 31, including PIN purchase and application submission.The paramedical admission process includes courses such as BSc Nursing, Bachelor of Physiotherapy, GNM, ANM, B Optometry, Occupational Therapy, Orthotics and Prosthetics, BASLP and Naturopathy. The online registration process has been ongoing for several weeks.Currently, around 56,754 seats are available across 1,165 paramedical colleges in the state. So far, more than 36,000 students have completed registration. Officials noted that the extension also comes as several administrative processes, including approvals for colleges and new institutions, are still underway.
