Chennai: The Chennai city police on Saturday arrested a man who sexually assaulted a woman on the false promise of marriage and then abandoned her after she gave birth to a child.The woman, who works at a private hospital in the city, lodged a complaint at Teynampet all women police station saying R Siva, 33, of Palakkarai in Trichy had cheated her and sexually assaulted her on multiple occasions by promising to marry her. However, after she became pregnant, he stopped talking to her. After she gave birth to a baby girl, Siva abandoned her.Based on her complaint, police arrested him from Trichy. He was remanded in judicial custody.
